conferenzaCopyJoint programming is about alignment and coordination of national research activities. Due to the broad scope of the global societal challenge of the JPI HDHL, different national (and regional) funding bodies are involved. By organising a conference for funding bodies in the area of nutrition and health, the JPI HDHL aims to support and strengthen national alignment. The conference will take place at the 28th of January 2015 in Switzerland – participation is on invite only.

25 countries, Member States, associate countries and third countries, are involved with the JPI HDHL. A significant amount of research activities on nutrition and health is taking place within these countries. Alignment of these activities will increase the impact of the individual efforts of the involved countries to resolve the global societal challenge of the JPI HDHL. Within a country often multiple national (and regional) funding bodies are involved in the area of nutrition and health. These funding bodies often have different pay masters and different mandates. The conference for funding bodies can strengthen the alignment of national research programmes with the JPI HDHL and also give more insights in the ways on monitoring such alignment.
The conference will focus on existing and upcoming national research programmes related to the scope of the JPI HDHL, and specifically on possibilities to develop mechanisms to measure the gains in efficiency in national funding by reducing fragmentation and financial challenges in relation to transnational funding. Coordinators and managers of national research programmes within the scope of the JPI HDHL and/or managers of funding bodies that fund research related to the scope of the JPI HDHL (from basic to applied research) will be invited.
Participation in the conference is on invite only - together with the Management Board of the JPI HDHL a list will be made of organisations and representatives of organisations which should be invited. Are you representing a funding body in the area of nutrition and health? And do you think you match the profile – please send an e-mail to jpihdhl@zonmw.nl for more information.
