On April 14th 2014 the Joint Programming Initiative ‘A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life’ (JPI HDHL) will launch a transnational call for Biomarkers in Nutrition and Health (BioNH).
The main objective of the BioNH call is to support interdisciplinary research and innovative approaches for the validation of Biomarkers and the investigation of intake/exposure and nutritional status of biomarkers within Nutrition and Health. This will be a key step in the implementation of the JPI HDHL strategic research agenda. The BioNH call in particular aims to define and harmonise the methodology necessary to prove the nutritional effects in the development of foods.
Thirteen countries have agreed to participate in this transnational initiative and these include: Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Spain, and Switzerland.
The indicative budget of €5.5 million will support translational projects (a minimum of 3 partners from different partner countries) for a period of 3 years and the submission deadline for proposals is expected to be 5 pm (CEST) on the 10th June 2014.
The preparation of the call was coordinated by Science Foundation Ireland with ZonMw in the Netherlands assuming the role of call secretariat.
Please note that this is a preannouncement of the call and some details may change before the formal launch of the call on April 14th.
