Call for Participation - FRIENZ Study Group Tour to New Zealand on Food for Health-deadline Sunday 31 August 2014 (New Zealand time).

 The FRIENZ  (Facilitating Research and Innovation cooperation between Europe and New Zealand) project, co-funded by the European Commission and the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, has recently released a call for representatives from the European Union research, university and innovation sectors to participate in a study tour to New Zealand for approximately five days beginning 1 December 2014.

The report on the JPI HDHL Foresight Event is now available

FORESIGHTOn 2nd September 2014, a foresight workshop took place in Berlin. The interactive forward-looking event, bringing together members and representatives of various European research organisations and stakeholders, strived to identify future key challenges and opportunities in the area of nutrition, diet and health for the upcoming 10 years. Based on future challenges and opportunities already identified during the previous foresight activities, the participants focussed on which research questions and policy measures are needed to address these challenges and opportunities. Postponement deadline BioNH call

Due to technical issues with the Electronic Submission System of the BioNH call, the deadline of the call is postponed until the Monday the 16th of June 2014, 15.00 CET. In the last couple of days, most of the bugs have been repaired. On the 5th and 6th of June the whole system will be evaluated to solve the remaining technical issues. Public launch of the JPI HDHL Knowledge Hub on the Determinants of DIet and Physical Activities Choice (DEDIPAC KH)

On March 28th, 2014, Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) “A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life” (HDHL) officially launched the DEDIPAC Knowledge Hub during its second conference in Brussels. Hans Brug, the coordinator of DEDIPAC KH, introduced the concept behind the European network. The DEDIPAC kick off meetingwill be held at VU University in Amsterdam on May 15-16th, 2014.

Next phase of joint programming in the area of Nutrition and Health


On the 28th of March 2014 the Joint Programming Initiative ‘A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life’ (JPI HDHL) officially handed over its Implementation plan to Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science. This marks the start of the implementation phase of joint programming in the area of Nutrition and Health.
