European Union Grants €2.4 Million to CSA HDHL Food4Health to Strengthen Research and Innovation

Food
"Together, we achieve more" That principle is at the heart of HDHL Food4Health. This ambitious new project aims to drive innovation in food and health research across Europe. We are thrilled to announce that the European Commission has awarded funding for the Coordination and Support Action (CSA) HDHL Food4Health.

How Will We Innovate?

Our goal is to connect key stakeholders in food and health. They will collaboratively shape research, innovation, policy, and implementation priorities. By fostering stronger alignment between funding mechanisms and the needs of researchers, policymakers, and industry, we will enhance the science-policy interface. Furthermore, this connection will actively be strengthened by organising round table discussions. Lastly, we will make sure that the future generation of researchers will be included.

Making an Impact Together

CSA HDHL Food4Health aims to align national research and innovation (R&I) programmes to avoid duplication of efforts. Building on the successful past of HDHL, the CSAs Microbiome Support, FIT4FOOD, CLEVERFOOD and FOODPathS, this CSA will foster new collaborations across the health and food domains.

The main objective of the CSA is to bring the actors in these domains together, strengthen existing networks, and establish new synergies to support sustainable food systems and public health. By aligning the European and national R&I efforts, the project will enhance the impact of ongoing initiatives and ensure that research progresses efficiently and effectively.

Planning and Coordination

The project runs from the 1st of January 2025 until the 31st of December 2028. ZonMw, as the secretariat of HDHL, will coordinate this project. ZonMw will lead a consortium of 11 partners from 9 countries, all working together to enhance collaboration, coordination, and alignment in European and national research on food, health, and sustainability.
