All projects funded within the HDHL-INTIMIC cofunded call are finished. The call on “Interrelation of the INtesTInal MICrobiome, Diet and Health” was launched in 2017 as part of HDHL-INTIMIC. It was co-funded by the EC, aiming to fund transnational research projects that address the causal relationship of diet, the intestinal microbiome and health. - In 2015 the JPI HDHL launched the Joint Action: Intestinal Microbiomics. The Joint Action funded 6 projects that started early 2016 for 3 to 3,5 years.

The intestinal microbiome project results were presented during the Healthy Microbiome Symposium in May 2022, at the Medical University of Vienna. HDHL asked Jildau Bouwman, coordinator of the Knowledge Platform, to reflect on the symposium and the future of microbiome research. - Image
HDHL-INTIMIC was the second ERA-NET Cofund of JPI HDHL and launched its first call in 2017: Interrelation of the Intestinal Microbiome, Diet and Health. The call was funded by the EC and 8 countries. Supporting 11 research projects, the initiative concluded in December 2022, yielding significant new insights into how nutrition impacts health. - Image
At the beginning of this summer, the running JPI HDHL projects funded in 2 calls focusing on the intestinal microbiome met during a virtual mid-term symposium. - HDHL-INTIMIC launched the Knowledge Platform call in September 2018. The Knowledge Platform was funded in spring 2019 and started the same year.
- In January 2017, the first joint funding action of the ERA-Net Cofund “Interrelation of the INtesTInal MICrobiome, Diet and Health” (HDHL-INTIMIC) was launched by nine countries. Projects started in the beginning of 2018 and run for three years.
- HDHL-INTIMIC (INtesTInal MICrobiomics) aims to coordinate national and regional programmes in the area of diet, intestinal microbiomics and health as well as nutrition and health in general, thereby contributing to the implementation of Healthy Diet, Healthy Life (HDHL) objectives.

On the 18th of June JPI HDHL is organising a virtual mid-term symposium for the projects funded in 2 calls focussing on the intestinal microbiome. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the symposium will be held virtually. In this way, the JPI HDHL can still offer project leaders the opportunity to exchange knowledge and facilitate a discussion. - Image
